Whether you are relaxing this Summer, interning at an awesome organization, or taking part in Summer opportunity at Duke, the Co-Lab’s Summer Academy is the perfect complement to build on your interest and skills.  These courses are designed to help you go from zero to web designer / developer in just a week each – no pre-requisites required.

Software Development Track
June 1-4
In this week long course, you will become familiar with the fundamentals of back end engineering of web applications, while learning about the Command Line & Git, as well as Python and one of its popular framework: Flask.  These are some of the most important core building blocks for getting started in programming, and are applicable to a wide variety of fields and areas of study.

Web Development Track
June 7-11
By the end of the week, you’ll have designed your first single-page website. Throughout the four-day course, you will get to know about structure (HTML), styling (CSS) and interactivity (JavaScript). After the series, you will have enough knowledge to either create a new project or add more pages to your current website.
